The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) manager has a strategic role and is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, social, and corporate governance policies and procedures in Deutsche Aircraft. The candidate will manage a multidisciplinary team with the aim of implementing CSRD reporting, identifying risks and opportunities (IRO), and defining and tracking specific key performance indicators. Aim of this position is to align all business practices and financial objectives with sustainable principles while ensuring transparency, compliance, and positive social impact.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Implementation of CSRD Reporting & Taxonomy

  • Develop, implement, and monitor corporate-level CSRD reporting and taxonomy.
  • Ensure company's compliance with environmental, social, and governance standards across all business units.
  • Advise steering committee on ESG related issues and report regularly about progress, challenges, and decisions to be taken to the management board.
  • Create guidelines, checklists, policies, procedures, and other related program content.
  • Identify appropriate tool landscape for data collection and reporting.
  • Set up relevant KPIs.
  • Supervise effectiveness of implemented ESG Management systems. 
  • Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities (IRO) around sustainability and corporate. governance issues.
  • Coordinate workshops and training programs with external suppliers.

2. Benchmarking

  • Set realistic and competitive goals based on informed market analysis of close competitors.
  • Identify best practices, key themes, and material issues in aviation to document how similar challenges can be tackled.

3. Operationalisation and strategic implementation

  • Support the leadership in developing and implementing proper management system for improving the overall sustainability performance of the company.
  • Drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and foster stakeholder engagement.
  • Follow current ESG trends and guidelines.

You’ll bring this with you

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or related field. (A professional certification in sustainability or ESG, and experience in conducting audits based on ISO14001, ISO9100 or other similar industrial standards would be a plus)
  • Senior-level candidate with at least 10 years’ experience in project management
  • Outstanding cross-functional management skills
  • Ability to identify, initiate and lead projects with both internal and external teams
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Sharp analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking skills
  • Proficiency in SAP & MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with particularly strong experience in Excel
